Written in memory of a beloved educator, this work harkens back to the era of the classic band overture.  Beginning with a clarinet solo, the musicians echo their "teacher" before joining into an emotional introduction.  A playful section follows, with melodic moments for all instruments, before the original theme returns for a rousing finale.
